The head of the Iranian organization of Files and Estates Registration, Ahmad Touiserkani talked about the marriage and divorce situation in the country and said, “158,753 divorces were registered during 2013. The number had a 6.4 percent rise comparing to 2012”.
“As 6.15 percent of the total number of divorces was registered in the province of Boushehr (southern Iran), it allocated the higher number of divorces to itself,” he added.
About the marriage of children he said, “Nobody has the right to register children’s marriages in official registration books”.
About temporary marriages he said, “The purpose of temporary marriage refers to registered marriages. On this basis, there were 301 temporary marriages during 2013, which had 33 percent rise comparing to 2012.
