Haddad Adel, Member of the Culture Committee of the Revolutionary Council of the Iranian regime underlined suppression and restriction of women under the name of mal-veiling. Adel said between his words, “Today it’s time to ask ourselves what the problem is with veiling and what is the reason? The hijab is a complex multi facet phenomenon, not only a traditional, but also a social issue and enemies of this revolution are planning for it.
There is an external threat for the hijab and it has had drastic harms to economic, social, mental, faith and cultural aspects.”
Adel continued, “Besides all these problems, the action by this system, government, administration, State Security Forces and the Guidance Ministry is necessary. Those who want to take action in this regard can’t just take simple actions; this is not a disease that can be cured by a single pill.”
Adel ridiculously claimed, “A hopeful fact is that the hijab is a value that Iranian women have chosen from faith and it had even existed before Islam. You can’t find a woman on the statue of Persepolis and this is an important issue!”
