Mahnaz Mohammadi, an Iranian woman who has lead the way for female film makers in the equality movement introduced herself to Evin prison today to serve a five year term.
In September 2012, Mahnaz Mohammadi was sentenced to five years in prison for “assembly and collusion against national security and propaganda against the regime.”
Mohammadi denies the charges, stating she is only guilty of participating in protests and collaborating on film projects. She was summoned to serve her sentence yesterday.
She states that she is frustrated with the events and being outside prison is no different than being inside prison.
