Some 40 women working at the “Handicraft Balls of Sanandaj” face enormous discrimination.
They work 12 hours a day and receive 2000 toumans (almost $0.57) for every ball they sew,
while the balls are sold for 140,000 toumans (almost $40) each in the market.
Another problem these women face is that they do not receive their meager wages on time and their payment is sometimes delayed for up to three months.
