In a letter to her young son on August 16, 2017, Azita Rafizadeh explained to him about the difficult conditions of imprisonment of political prisoners in Gohardasht, including his father, Payman Koushak Baghi.
Azita Rafizadeh, who is imprisoned in the women’s ward of Evin Prison, wrote in a part:
“These days, five months after my first leave, I was waiting to receive another leave. You had repeatedly told me that you wished your father could once have a leave, as well. But not only your wish did not come true, but they also deprived us of our two-hour reunion.
“But, my dear son, we must be strong in such conditions. You must know that not only your father, but many other fathers are in similar conditions, deprived of visiting and embracing their children. And even worse, they are deprived of the minimum essentials, such as healthy water and food and fresh air. These are strong and courageous men whose health is at risk and do not have enough medication. I want you to pray for all of them every night before you go to bed.”
