Agents of the Municipality of Tonekabon, northern Iran, beat up a woman peddling on the street and threw away and damaged her items for sale.
The incident took place on Thursday, April 5, 2018, on Taleghani Street. The woman earns her living by selling vegetables on the street. She is the only breadwinner for her family because her husband is sick.
Another woman peddler, Majideh Mazra’eh, was beaten up and arrested in Ahwaz, southwestern Iran, in January by municipality and State Security Force agents.
Peddlers are systematically and frequently attacked and harassed while the mullahs’ president, Hassan Rouhani, considers peddling as a job created by the government!
