Works extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintains a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women's rights organizations and NGO's and the Iranian diaspora. The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Commission meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues, and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime's misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.

Human rights violations against women in Iran continued during this month, and were widely covered by the international media.
Women’s death penalties were carried out, as well as arrest and imprisonment. Women were deprived of the most initial medical treatment in prison, pressure on them was intensified under the pretext of veiling, and discrimination in employment raged on.

The month of April was simultaneous with the escalation of pressure and repression against women such as issuing death sentences, detentions and violations of women’s basic rights including the raid by the Iranian regime's repressive State Security Forces and prison authorities to a section of a women prison in the Shahr-e-ray, located in Greater Tehran metropolitan area, harshly beating the defenseless female prisoners.

March was a month in which we witnessed various news on the situation of women in Iran. As the world continues to witness Iranian women executed, detained, banned from education, as well as women who committed suicide or set themselves on fire, the NCRI Women’s Committee bears the responsibility to be their voice. All these indicate ongoing suppression and violation of basic rights against women in Iran and still yet Iranian women stand in the forefront of resisting the Iranian regime’s misogynist policies.
