Works extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintains a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women's rights organizations and NGO's and the Iranian diaspora. The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Commission meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues, and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime's misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.

The Iranian regime parliament is deliberating on a scheme dubbed "protecting hijab and chastity" in order to ramp up the atmosphere of terror in the society and to intensify suppression of women in particular. Most of the articles of this 13-article legislation that was in general ratified by regime's parliament last October aims at limiting women's employment and imposing still further pressure and suppression of women on the mullahs-fabricated pretext of "mal-veiling".

In the past week, the Iranian regime ratcheted up repression of women by issuing a directive for forced veiling by Mullah Rouhani’s Interior Ministry.

The Iranian regime’s henchmen executed two women prisoners on May 30 in Gharchak Prison in Varamin. One of the victims, Fatemeh Mehrabani, 39, married with two children, had spent five years in Iranian regime’s prisons before execution. Prior to their execution, the two had been transferred to solitary confinement on May 30.

Clerical regime’s intelligence elements raided the home of journalist and human rights activist Ms. Narges Mohammadi on Tuesday, May 5, arresting and transferring her to Evin Prison. Ms. Mohammadi attempted to prevent entry of droves of mercenaries who were there to arrest her, but regime’s intelligence elements threatened her and forcibly took her with them.

The Women’s Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran condemns the misogynist clerical regime’s membership in the executive board of UN Women. It is a shame for the UN, as a body responsible for defending the rights of women, to accept the membership of a misogynist regime where suppression and discrimination of women is carried out systematically and who openly defends acts of stoning, lashing and acid attacks of women.
