Monique Auguste – President of Women against Fundamentalism and for Equality Canada
I am very pleased to have the privilege of closing this conference by remembering Saba Haftbarandaran, who at the age of 29 years died in the April 2011 attack in Camp Ashraf. Her last words were: “We will resist until the end”.
“We will resist to the end” Mrs. Rajavi and let me tell you: ba shoma, thank you. I thank you for standing with courage against the dark forces of fundamentalism. You represent respect for life; you represent respect for the rights Mrs. Rajavi. Your movement, your belief, your desire to see a free Iran is exemplary.
You are the future of Iran. You are the beacon of hope the true Iranian people. Thank you for that voice. Today, I have the great privilege to be here as president of WAFE. Today we speak on the International Women’s Day, not to mention the thousand heroic women currently in Camp Liberty who had to leave Camp Ashraf with a lot of ordeals. On behalf of WAFE, we state our
strong condemnation against the February 9th attack. We believe that it’s crucial to start an independent investigation into the attack. Why did the UN not act to stop this bloodshed? Why did the UN take side with the fundamentalists? Finally, I say to the heroic women in Camp Ashraf and Liberty to stand firm and we are all together with you.
