IRNA news agency, January 29, 2014 – The Black & White music band, managed by Mr. Peiman Mir Aqassi and is led by singer Mr. Vahid Taj, will perform in Dezful on February 6 and 7.
Mohammad Ali Qazi, Dezful’s Friday prayer Imam, said: “There is no problem with traditional music concerts in Dezful, but no women should play musical instruments.” The Head of Dezful’s Department of Culture and Islamic Guidance also stated: “From the onset, there were never to be any women players in this music band.”
In a similar development last year, a concert by Ehsan Khajeh Amiri that was to play on February 24 and 25, 2013 was also cancelled because of the oppositions that were raised.
