Deputy President in Women and Family Affairs said, “The 2011 statistic shows that the number of single-parent women had a 3 percent rise during the five last years.”
Mentioning that there are signs of change in the family structure Shahindokht Mollaverdi said, rise in the age of marriage, rise in the number of divorces, inflation and lack of jobs are the reasons for these changes. About the poverty of women she added, “This new standard is spreading in the society”.
According to her, 9 percent of drug addicts in the country are women. 60 percent of addicted men are married and some have children.
