Maria Khanbegi, a 26-year-old woman, died in a hospital on November 16, 2014, two weeks after her husband set her ablaze. Maria was from the town of Ashnaviyeh but resided in Tehran. She was set ablaze with gasoline on “honor” allegations. Maria is the fourth Kurdish woman murdered in the past month alone by her own relatives, especially their husbands.
