According to the state-run Fars news agency, a woman, by the initials F. Gh. was executed on December 10 in Qazvin’s Central Prison on charges of drug-trafficking.
Despite the fact that she protested the ruling, the verdict was approved by the Supreme Court. The execution follows a wave of ongoing suppression against women, including more than 20 counts of acid attacks.
“It is of no importance that this measure is protested by some people. Carrying out execution sentences for drug related crimes is a sign of the judiciary’s resolution and power”, Qazvin’s public and revolutionary prosecutor stressed.
