The Commander of the State Security Force Public Places Police (PPP) announced a new mobilization beginning on August 23, to monitor clothing stores that sell unconventional manteaux for women.
The SSF has threatened to seal up and shut the stores that produce or sell see-through, tight, short (mini) and button-less manteaux.
Khalil Elahi said every dress has been defined by law and they should be tailored according to the rules and regulations defined by the Union of Clothes Production and the State Security Force. He said, “The dresses permitted for use inside the house are not allowed to be worn outside and in public circles and the Police is obliged to deal with the violators according to the law.”
In the first stage of inspections, 116 dress shops were sealed for working without licenses and 246 shops were sealed for violating the government regulations. (State-run IRNA, Fars,… news agencies, Aug. 23, 2015)
