The prosecutor of the cities of Taraghbeh and Shandiz warned women of taking part in parties and dancing.
“Those holding such gatherings will be severely punished by law!” he said.
“During the past few days two parties were held in the city of Taraghbeh and authorities confronted the partiers. Last Sunday a woman was arrested after sending text messages for different people and inviting them to a party in an orchard,” Shakeri said, adding authorities will take serious action against “devious” gatherings.
The government official stipulated facilities hosting such rallies under any pretexts will be closed down under judicial orders.
“The individual(s) responsible for these criminal measures will be sentenced to 10 years behind bars and the State Security Forces will take any action necessary against obvious crimes based on their duties,” he added while threatening people with long jail terms.
