Iran: 82% of women heads of households illiterate

Addressing a seminar studying the damages to family, Presidential deputy on Women and Family Affairs said, “The number of women heading households has doubled in the past five years and 82% of them are illiterate.”

Shahindokht Molaverdi said, “The 82% illiteracy rate makes it much more difficult for these women to find a job and this has led to their poverty. In such conditions, they are subjected to social damages.”
