Nasrin Sotudeh, a renowned Iranian human rights lawyer and advocate, sent a message to the people of France on her Facebook page, expressing her condolences.
“This morning I woke up to the news of terror attacks against Paris. I express my condolences to the French people, although I see such remarks as very little in the face of such huge grief; however, this is a sign of a common pain that has engulfed our collective lives. We would like to tell the people of France that we share their pain, and like them we are concerned about the future of mankind.
There have been many mornings where we have woken up to news of terror attacks, arrests, apprehensions, wars and bombings. There have also been many nights that we have gone to sleep with such news. Today, however, these expressions of sympathy and support are sending a common message to those in charge. Should we not increase our efforts to spread their news?”
