The number of divorces in Iran has had a 53% growth and exceeded the number of marriages.
Gelayol Ardalan, head of the youths department in the Ministry of Health, explained in this regard, “According to the census organization, we see a drop in the number of marriages. More than 13 million youths in the age of marriage are single. On the other hand, the number of divorces has had a 53% growth. In the period spanning from 2006 to 2014, the rate of divorce has exceeded the rate of marriage.”
