The NCRI Women’s Committee previously reported the arrest of young activist Shima Babaii on May 25, 2016.
Complementary information indicates that Ms. Babaii is a fourth-semester student of Architecture and an activist defending the rights of families of martyrs and political prisoners.
The raid on her residence took place at 11.30 p.m. when her family were having supper. The IRGC agents searched the house violently for 2.5 hours and took the mobiles of all the family. They also confiscated Ms. Babaii’s electronic items, books, personal diaries, etc.
Shima’s mother and sister both suffer from Multiple Sclerosis. Her sister suffered a seizure and intense convulsions at the time of the savage raid by the IRGC.
A number of campaigns have been launched to #FreeShima calling on everyone to join to save her.
