Student activist Golrokh Ayraii drew attention to her 6-year prison sentence and said she might be placed behind bars soon.
Ayraii said, “I had no primary trial. During the second court, I was hospitalized after a major surgery. All my medical documents were presented to the court but they decided to try me in absentia. So, I was tried and sentenced to six years in prison while absent!”
Ayraii explained that her case had been built on the basis of some handwritten notes, her Facebook posts, some unpublished pictures of her in the 2009 uprising, and her telephone contacts extracted from her mobile phone, computer and notebooks confiscated during the inspection of her residence.
“The whole case is fake. It is drafted so ridiculously that they could not present it even to my lawyer,” she added.
Golrokh Ayraii’s husband and fellow activist, Arash Sadeghi, was called to prison again last month.
