A major state-run news agency, Fars, published an article on the need to impose more restrictions on women to observe the mandatory dress code and veil.
Citing the Friday prayer leader of the northern city of Chalous, Fars wrote:
“We have two methods for confronting mal-veiling or non-veiling. The first approach is to guide people. But the second approach is for dealing with those who use their outfit as a tool for showing their opposition to the Islamic Republic. In this case, the Judiciary and the State Security Force must deal with them strongly and properly.”
Rashedi Nouri added: “In government offices, all female employees must be obliged to observe the compulsory dress-code.”
