Maryam Naghash Zargaran, the Christian prisoner of conscience, sent a letter out of Evin Prison, indicating the pressures and restrictions she is subjected to. She demands lifting of these pressures.
In part of her letter, she wrote, “It is three years and three months that I have been detained in the politico-ideological women’s ward of Evin Prison…
“I was interrogated in January 2010 for being Christian. This was the main focus of my interrogation and then I was sentenced to four years imprisonment…
“My question is, is it a crime to be a Christian? I hope a day comes when all human beings with any faith could be free to live in freedom and security.”
