The case of Daemi sisters was examined by the 48th Branch of the Revision Court of Tehran Province on Saturday, May 27, 2017.
A source close to the Daemi family said, “Atena Daemi was brought to the court room in dire physical condition. She has lost 17 kilograms and her blood pressure is 8 over 5. These are the latest medical record registered for her.”
The source said all three sisters had come with their lawyers and the judge promised to issue his ruling within the next few days.
Political prisoner Atena Daemi has been on hunger strike since April 8, 2011, in protest to the prison sentences issued for her sisters who defended her at the time of arrest for forcible transfer to prison.
Amnesty International issued an urgent action statement on May 23, 2017, on Atena Daemi’s serious health condition and called for her immediate release.
