The filtering of Telegram and Instagram in Iran caused a large number of women heading households to lose their means of earning their living, because they presented and sold their products on these social networks.

The latest statistics indicate that there are at least 3.5 million women heads of household in Iran, all of whom live under the poverty line. 82 per cent of them do not have official employment and only 18 per cent receive meager subsidies from the National Welfare Organization.
