Works extensively with Iranian women outside the country and maintains a permanent contact with women inside Iran. The Women’s Committee is actively involved with many women's rights organizations and NGO's and the Iranian diaspora. The committee is a major source of much of the information received from inside Iran with regards to women. Attending UN Human Rights Commission meetings and other international or regional conferences on women’s issues, and engaging in a relentless battle against the Iranian regime's misogyny are part of the activities of members and associates of the committee.

Prison officials have once again refused to grant medical leave to political prisoner Zeinab Jalalian jailed in Khoy Prison, West Azerbaijan Province.

Ms. Jalalian suffers from pterygium and risks losing her eye-sight.

In an international campaign in December 2016, Amnesty International circulated a petition for freedom of a number of human rights activists including Zeinab Jalalian who is deprived of needed medical treatment.

Zeinab Jalalian was arrested in 2007 in Kermanshah on the charge of having contacts with Kurdish parties. The Revolutionary Court sentenced her to death but her sentence was later commuted to life in prison.
