Iran: Raihaneh Jabbari calls to be rescued from the gallows

Raihaneh Jabbari has been imprisoned since 2007 for pleading guilty to the murder of a man by the name of Sarbandi in self-defense.

The Global Tolerance Organization has asked the country’s judicial authorities to prevent the execution of this young woman.

Raihaneh refused to yield to having a sexual relationship with the man, an employee of MOIS. To defend herself she struck the man in the back with a knife.

This strike was not meant to kill the man and it was not on a sensitive part of the body. Judge Tardast of the 17th branch of the Penal Court condemned her to death. She appealed but the 27th branch of the Supreme Court upheld the decree.

This innocent girl will be executed soon.
