Iran: Dire conditions of women in city outskirts

State-run Salamat News source referred to the dire conditions of women in the outskirts of cities.

“They say 11 million of Iran’s 80 million population are living in unofficial residences. Residences that cannot be named as homes, nor are considered urban areas. The municipality refuses to accept any responsibility in this regard, while assets in such areas are in the minimums at best.

Part of the population in these residences are women that are more vulnerable than men due to cultural deprivations and problems resulting from economic issues and financial attachments.”
