Iran: Female deputy questions minister on women’s solo singing

Zohreh Tayyebzadeh, member of the mullahs’ parliament, submitted a question on Monday, December 14, 2015, to interpolate Minister of Guidance and Culture, Ali Jannati, on solo singing of women in Tehran’s Vahdat Concert Hall.

This was reported by member of the Majlis presidential board, Mohammad Dehghan.

The solo singing of a woman during an opera in Vahdat Hall created an uproar in government circles, as women’s solo singing is forbidden in Iran.
