Iran: female prisoners held in inhumane conditions

A report received from Zahedan, southeast Iran, states that three female prisoners on death row are held in inhumane conditions.

“A number of prisoners in this prison have been literally forgotten, and there are no measures taken for their release or a follow-up on their conditions. There are three death row prisoners from Pakistan amongst the female prisoners. These prisoners have no source of income for their daily needs and are currently surviving in the harshest living conditions inside prison.

The names of these three women are:

Bushra Araie – 33, has spent 11 years in prison

Fatemeh Bibi – 65, daughter of Sekandar

Fahimeh Tahsin – 32.”
