Iran: civil activist sent to optician

Atena Daemi, Iranian human and civil rights activist, has been sent to an optician from prison.

She is currently being held in the women’s ward of Evin Prison in Tehran. After her transfer to this prison, Atena began suffering headaches, double vision, spots in her vision and weak bones, and visited a doctor to follow up on these illnesses.

Daemi, 27, has been held in detention for a year now and is facing allegations such as assembly and collusion against national security, protesting the execution of Reyhaneh Jabbari, being in contact with the “Mothers of Laleh Park” and opposing mandatory hijab regulations.
