Civil rights and women’s rights activist Farzaneh Jalali was arrested Thursday, February 23, 2017, in Kermanshah (western Iran).
Ms. Jalali had been summoned by phone to the Department of Registration of Documents in the Province of Kermanshah, but was arrested when she referred to this office. Subsequently, security forces thoroughly searched her house.
Farzaneh Jalali used to study at Tehran University before she was expelled and deprived of continuing her education because of her political activities at school.
