Iran: Women cannot enter the stadium

Mehdi Taj, head of the Football Federation of Iran, reacted to the presence of women in the stadiums.

He said, “We work in the stadiums and are aware of the ongoing realities in the stadiums. Presently, we are not structurally or physically prepared to let women in.”

On the sale of tickets to women for the match with Syria, he said, “We must have separate entrances, but presently don’t. As for the error in the system of ticket sale, only 11 women had purchased tickets, which were annulled with our warnings.” (The state-run Asr-e ran website – September 6, 2017)
