The president of Iran’s Polo Federation, Golnar Vakil Gilani, was dismissed without any justifications. It has been said that the dismissal took place due to the publication of her private photos.
“The Ministry of Sports has pushed me to resign… Definitely, if they want to dismiss me, this will have a lot of consequences for us (Iran) from the World Federation,” she said in an interview before leaving.
In addition, she talked about the dissemination of her private photos. She believes that this has been a set-up. “Unfortunately, the country’s sports authorities only speak about putting youths and women in managerial positions; in practice, this is not the case.”
