Iran: Laleh Park mothers demand release of all political prisoners

Laleh Park mothers demand release of all political prisoners

In a declaration issued on January 25, 2018, the Laleh Park Mothers warned the mullahs ruling Iran over the slaughter of prisoners of the uprising and brutal crackdown on protesters.

The declaration reads in part:

Today, the people of Iran are conscious and aware. They have experienced an oppressive rule for 39 years and are well aware of your policies, methods and manners and those of your affiliated groups. They have experienced injustice, lies, suppression of freedoms, discrimination and inequality with their flesh and bone.

The oppressed people of Iran showed in their uprising in December and January that they can stand up for the demands. At an unprecedent pace, they powerfully organized themselves and staged gatherings, protests and strikes in all the small and large cities and villages all over the country. They cried out their legitimate demands and were able to shake up the pillars of your rule.

It seems that the killing and torture, the brutal suppression and the extensive arrests of people on the streets were not enough. Now, we learn every day of the murder of one of our loved ones in prison.

Let there be no doubts, however, that with everyone whose blood is shed, with every freedom loving person whom you incarcerate, issue unjust decrees for and torture, every injustice that you do to people, there will come a day when you have to account to our people for all this in fair and just trials.
