Iran: Atena Daemi, Golrokh Iraee have family visits under stress

Atena Daemi - Golrokh Iraee

Finally, after ten days, Atena Daemi and Golrokh Iraee had a family visit on February 1, 2018, under tense conditions in the Qarchak Prison, in Varamin.

According to the families, “We had to wait for some time because Atena and Golrokh had resisted wearing the head-to-toe veil (chador). We had to stand all the time as we were waiting because there was no suitable waiting room. After they came, without the veil, we could not sit beside our daughters. Four female guards were there throughout the visit and listened to everything we said. We were under stress all the time during the visit.”

The families of the two prisoners said they have vowed to go on hunger strike if they are not returned to Evin Prison by February 3. They would start with wet hunger strike and turn to dry hunger strike after a week.
