Golnar Samsami

Golnar Samsami was 34 years old, married with an 8-year-old boy named Roham.

Golnar Samsami lived in Fardis, Karaj, but worked in Shahriar as a medical employee at Aban’s Private Laboratory.

On Sunday, November 17, 2019 due to the street protests, Golnar decided not to go to work by her own car. When she got to work, the doctor who owned the lab called her and said that they needed to close the lab.

So, Golnar and her colleague closed the lab and walked up the street to catch a taxi and go home.

As they were waiting by the side of Vali-Asr street of Shahriar,Golnar Samsami was shot in the head by a sniper. Golnar fell on the ground and suffered a brain death.

The bullet that struck into Golnar’s head was apparently fired by a gunman located on top of a tall building overlooking the street.

After calling and informing Golnar’s family about what had happened to her, her colleague transferred Golnar to hospital. In the operation room, her skull was cut open and the bullet removed. But, after an hour around 6 p.m. she died while in the ICU at Imam Sajjad Hospital.

Her corpse was given to her family after several days of making threats, harassment and obstructions by authorities.

The number of those killed in the Iran uprising exceeds 1,500 which is a conservative estimate. Now, the regime confirms the killing of about 400 women in the protests, and 17 teenagers.
