A third year student majoring in agriculture at Tehran University (Abureihan campus) and editor of Today’s Talk students’ magazine, affiliated to the university’s Islamic Society was interrogated for the second time by the MOIS Bureau. She was also threatened to be expelled if she continues her activities. Maryam Hanifi’s parents were also summoned and threatened in person and by telephone during the recent days because of their daughter’s activities.
The University Disciplinary Committee prevented her in absentia from having access to a scholarship as well as residing at the university’s dormitory for two terms.
Maryam is also a member of the central council of medical sciences and Tehran University Students’ Society and was previously summoned for her activities during the elections.
