Weimar’s human rights award was given to Iranian political prisoner Nargess Mohammadi on the International Human Rights Day, December 10, 2016.
The prize was awarded to Nargess Mohammadi for her long-time effort to prevent the death penalty in Iran and uphold freedom of expression.
The Weimar Award is
5000 Euros and is awarded to a human rights activist or organization every year.
Weimar is a cultural capital located in Thuringia state, Germany.
