A group of men and women from Shahrood formed a human chain to protest against the destruction of the nature in Shahwar Mountain, the highest mountain overlooking the capital of Shahrood Province in Northeast Iran.
Friday, May 11, 2018, a group of women and men living in Shahrood, gathered and formed a human chain in protest against the ravage of minerals and destruction of nature in this mountain by the government.
The people of this city have held protests and human chains on a number of occasions to stop the destruction. The Shahwar mountain embeds unique plants and animals. It also provides the city’s water.
During the last five years, the regime has been destroying Shahwar Mountain on the pretext of extracting Aluminum stones.
Shahwar is a tourist area and famous as the “Roof of the Province.”
