Remarks at the IWD 2017 gathering, “Women in Political Leadership”
Dear Madame Rajavi,
Dear sisters in the panel,
Dear sisters and brothers,
I would like to congratulate everyone on the International Women’s Day.
My name is Drita Ayduli. I was the director for refugees in the Ministry of Interior, and now I am chairman of the National Chamber of Mediation in Albania.
I am very (pleased) to be among you on this great day. And I thank the person who proposed that this big activity (take place) in Tirana. Welcome you all in Tirana.
Every time I see you I am proud of our very good beautiful country. We are poor but our heart is very big for all. I was one of the first people who met your people when you came from Iraq. The stories I heard from your people, of your resistance and (inaudible) the missile attacks on your camp made me admire your dedication to the cause of freedom for your country. It was especially interesting for me to see so (many) women among you who had been in the Iranian regime’s prisons and then in Iraq and they had a long history of struggle for freedom of their country. I am glad that our small country had a big heart to let all of your people in.
We, too, have a long story of struggle against dictatorship and we understand what you and your people are going through. I hope that this humanitarian effort on the part of Albania will set a model and example of humanity (for) the world in this century.
With all the problems and wars in the world we need love and friendship with suffering people who want freedom…
Mrs. Rajavi, mentioned in her speech that women play an effective role in leading the people of the world towards greater sisterhood, brotherhood and solidarity. And we must assume this responsibility by active participation in this (inaudible) movement.
I would like to express my solidarity and support for your great movement and I am sure that your movement with your leadership, Mrs. Rajavi, who advocates democracy and with your tolerance, (will have) success in your country just as you had success over all these years in your safe (relocation) in our country.
The people of Albania are with you and stand by you and in your quest for freedom.
God bless you all…
